How Tramper delivers quality at speed
Growing a business often comes with a “quality tax” as production speeds up, attention to detail usually goes down. At Tramper Technology South Africa, we’ve decided to ignore that rule. We are ramping up our production capacity to meet growing demand, but we’re doing it while staying agile and competitive.
Our secret? We don’t outsource our standards. By maintaining full control over our internal manufacturing process, we ensure that a “high-volume” year never results in a “low-quality” machine.
In the last year, we increased our floor space by 50%.
Our design
It all begins at the drawing board. Our design phase is where the DNA of a Tramper machine is created. Because our electrical and mechanical engineers work under one roof, the transition from a concept to a functional blueprint is seamless.
We design for reliability, ensuring every component is optimized for the food packaging industry before a single piece of metal is cut.
Our CNC
When it comes to the hardware, precision is non-negotiable. Our CNC machining department handles all turning and milling with great accuracy. Using our DMG and 5-axis Hermle milling machines and Mazak lathes, we produce complex parts with low tolerances.
Our construction
The backbone of our machines is built in our construction and fabrication department. Having our own bending machine means we don’t rely on third-party suppliers for our frames or sheet metal work.
We fabricate our own chassis and structural components in-house, giving us the flexibility to pivot quickly if a custom solution is needed and the peace of mind that the structural integrity of the machine meets our exact specifications.
Our assembly
The final magic happens in assembly. This is where mechanical precision, electrical engineering, and fabricated steel converge. Our team integrates every component and brings the machine to life using in-house designed PLCs.
By programming our own controllers, we maintain total authority over the machine’s “brain”, ensuring the software is as robust as the hardware.
